Beau was the foundation of our Copperbirch Kennel. Beau was the Winner of Irish Kennel Clubs Retriever of the Year 2008. Winner of David Of Westley Perpetual Trophy for Best Performance of a Retriever. Winner of 9 Open Stakes and countless other Open Stake Awards. She was a 4 times Qualifer for the Irish Retriever Championship where she received diplomas of merit on two separate occasions. Beau was a very stylish, honest bitch who really was a joy to trial. She is dam to FTCh's and FTW's smd Granddam to Countless Champiuons and Winners all over the world.
Sadly we lost our beloved Beau in the autumn of 2015 but her memory will live on in our hearts forever !!!
Copperbirch Field Trial Champion Labrador Bitches in Ireland
All our Copperbirch Labrador females have excellent British and Irish Field Trial pedigrees, have Clear Eye certificates and good Hip & Elbow scores. They are also Genetically DNA Health Tested for GPRA, CNM, EIC & SD2. (We were the first known Labrador Breeder in Ireland to carry out these genetic tests).
The most important qualities we look for in our Labrador females is "Natural Game-Finding Ability, Drive and Style combined with a Calm Temperament for Field Trialling, Hunting and Companionship".
As well as competing with our Labrador Retrievers in Field Trials we attend Driven Shoots and Pick-Up with our dogs on a regular basis. However our favourite past-time is Rough Shooting and Hunting over our own dogs on game such as Snipe, Woodcock, Pheasant, Duck, Rabbit and Partridge because of our passion for hunting, our Labrador Bitches are all worked regularly on a variety of different terrains and possess impressive levels of agility and stamina to work full time throughout the hunting season in Ireland.
We only keep Labrador Bitches that are capable of being trained to Field Trial standard. Have Natural Game-Finding Ability, Trainability, Intelligence, Honesty and a Sound Calm Temperament because of these qualities puppies from these Labrador Females excel in Field Trials, make excellent Rough Shooting and Picking Up dogs, but most of all Wonderful Companions and Great Family Pets.
Some of our Labrador Females are already Irish Field Trial Champions (FTCH) some have won Field Trial and Working Test Awards and others are shooting bitches which form part of our hunting and picking up team.
