Keith Mathews ‘The Dog Guru’ is an expert in dealing with problematic canine behaviours.  Over the last 30 years, he has successfully travelled the world and worked with tens of thousands of dogs and their owners.  He has cured every possible behavioural complex imaginable.  Keith prides himself in being able to assist owners in overcoming their dog’s problems even when all other dog trainers and behaviourist’s have failed.

Our 1-2-1 dog behaviour consultations are held at our ‘Dog Guru Centre’ near Markethill, Armagh.  They are the ideal starting point for owners experiencing problems with their dog’s behaviour.

Using his uniquely developed and innovative “Calmness Leads to Reward” ® positive dog training and behaviour philosophy. Keith will provide you with the logical tools and knowledge to realign the relationship you have with your dog, totally transforming their behaviour forever.

OUR UNIQUENESS

What makes our system so unique, is that unlike others, we do not primarily focus on the symptomatic behaviour first.  Instead, we focus on the reasons for your dog’s behaviour. We get to the source, the root cause and identify the triggers, thought patterns, learned behaviours, and experiences. We then apply multiple positive techniques to change your dog’s perception, helping them address the fears and anxieties at the core of their unwanted behaviour.

We apply similar cognitive therapy techniques used in human (CBT) therapy.  We provide you with the knowledge, teaching you the tools required to give your dog the confidence, to allow them to process and change their behaviour which ultimately results in permanently fixing their problems forever.

To do this we use our own unique methodology which we call “Calmness Leads to Reward” ®

“Calmness Leads to Reward” ®  is a pioneering, innovative, cognitive, dog training and behaviour management philosophy.  Uniquely developed by Keith Mathews ‘The Dog Guru’ and formulated from his practical work and 30 years study of canine behaviour.

The methodology behind “Calmness Leads to Reward” ®  is about realigning the human dog relationship, using systematic proven, positively focussed techniques. This in part, helps establish or re-establish the partnership of trust, which is the key ingredient in any successful relationship.

Unlike other trainers who tend to use treats with traditional conditioning methods to try and convince your dog everything is ok. “Calmness Leads to Reward” ®  is about reading and redirecting the energy of your dog.  It’s about teaching, before training and uses only positive, force free methods, combined with the timely consistent, reward of affection, with love, without the need for bribery through treats or gadgets.

It is a science orientated, holistic behavioural method which is uncomplicated, logical and follows common sense.

During your consultation Keith will introduce you to “Calmness Leads to Reward” ®  and provide you with the tools, so that you can truly ‘Think Dog’.  He will teach you how to communicate with your dog, in a way that they understand.  When implemented fully, the results will truly astound you.

THE CONSULTATION PROCESS 

Duration:  Your 1-2-1 Behavioural Consultation will normally last 1 hour 30 mins but please set additional time aside should Keith feel it necessary.

Videos:  Although this is not a necessity, it can be helpful if you are able to bring along with you on the day a video of your dog showing the behaviours you would like us to address.

Diagnosis:  Upon arrival at our ‘Dog Guru Centre’ you will be asked to complete a full in-depth behavioural assessment questionnaire. This will assist Keith in making a full comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of your dog and the reasons for its behaviour.

Action Plan: During the consultation Keith will formulate an in-depth behaviour management action plan for you to implement and follow as part of the process.

Practical Training: Keith will demonstrate with your dog and show you how to implement any practical training during the process.

Cost & Ongoing Support:  The cost of a 1-2-1 Consultation is £135.  In most cases a single 1-2-1 Behavioural Consultation with Keith Mathews ‘The Dog Guru’ is all that is required to start you on the journey of permanently transforming your dog’s behaviour, giving you both the perfect long lasting stress-free loving relationship.

Keith will provide you with expert ongoing support and if required tailor design any future training necessary for you to achieve your goals.  Should any additional 1-2-1’ appointments be required they will be at a discounted rate of £65 per 1 hour session. A discount will also be offered off the normal cost of our intensive ‘Calmness Leads to Reward” group dog training classes should Keith feel they need to form part of your dog’s continued rehabilitation.

Full details of any future training along with any further costs involved will be provided at the conclusion of your initial 121 Behavioural Consultation.

WHEN & WHERE THEY ARE HELD

Our 1-2-1 Consultations are normally only available on Fridays and some Saturdays.   These initial consultations are always carried out at our Dog Guru Centre at our headquarters in Markethill Co. Armagh.  Our 1-2-1 Behavioural Consultations are always with our canine expert Keith Mathews ‘The Dog Guru’.
